Hot Spot - The Middle East July 2007

July 15 and terrorism

Exploding Middle East, President Bush and the Crusades

Turkey

With Turkey moving, as some reports suggest, 140,000 troops to its Iraqi border, just days ahead of the July 22 elections, to attack Kurdish hideouts, it seems the Turkish military and government are determined to go beyond cross-border shelling and hot pursuits, to grab as much real estate in Kurdish areas, before all hell breaks loose in the Middle East

With domestic demand increasing for the government to take action against Kurdish “terrorists”, military action can only bolster its chances of gaining support from Islamic Turks. Seems garnering votes in the upcoming elections is more important for the Islamic leaning government, than becoming a member of the European Union. Will the U.S. turn a blind eye to the latest adventurism by an old ally of the Cold War against Communism? Of course, there are no oil wells to protect there.

Syria and Lebanon

To the south Syria is boosting its reserve military units with volunteers - citizens who are in Lebanon - by using all sorts of scare tactics and enticements for its citizens to return before an expected attack by Israel. Israel meanwhile tries appeasement by offering land-for-peace, with land that was gotten by the blood of its Jewish citizens in the six-day war of 1967

In Lebanon, once considered the Riviera of the Middle East, Syrians have been cautioned by their own government to leave Lebanon before July 15, after which international events threaten to sink Lebanon deeper into the flames of war, planned by Iran and Syria

Lebanon a country whose Christians were once a majority in the heart of the Islamic world, has some of its Christian leaders now making a pact with an Islamic terrorist organization – Hizbullah (Party of Allah) – to establish a parallel government if certain conditions are not met by Siniora’s government by July 15, according to the Lebanese daily, Al-Akhbar.

Hizbullah gained popular support for holding its own against Israel in the 2006 Lebanon War, (known as the July War in Lebanon), and as a relief organization was more effective in helping war victims, than the U.S. government was in helping the victims of Hurricane Katrina

One of the aforementioned international events of July15 and beyond international events, covers a submission of a report by the International Investigation Commission, to the U.N. Security Council, dealing with the murder of Rafiq al-Hariri, who many in Lebanon believe, was murdered by the Syrians.

Another event is the discussion of U.N. Security Council Resolution 1701 scheduled for July 16, on the progress of placing international experts to assist the Lebanese security apparatus monitor the Syria-Lebanon border. Hizbullah of course is against having U.N. personnel monitor the border across which it gets most of its weapons and supplies from Iran and Syria.

According to sources and the Lebanese daily, Al-Mustaqbal, Hizbullah’s weapons will be used in helping the Syrian’s in the looming war with Israel, fighting Israel to the South, assisting Iran against the U.S., and fighting Lebanese president Siniora’s supporters at home

Israel

Facing its first psychological defeat due to the ineptness of the Israeli Defense Force in the 2006 Lebanon War, (called the Second Lebanon War in Israel), a new infantry brigade has been formed called Kfir (lion club), with three elite brigades that did well during the 2006 war coming under one headquarters. Emergency funding has been assigned for building safer shelters, and funds for fighting terrorists (Hamas and Fatah) in Gaza and the West Bank are being diverted to prepare for a full-scale war with Syria and Iran

With the signing of a military pact between Iran and Syria, and Iran’s determination in becoming a super power to destroy Israel, conquer Iraq as the first step to a worldwide Caliphate ruled according to Islamic Law, it is no wonder Israel feels the threat from Iran and Syria has never been more serious and dangerous.

With Syrian President Bashar Assad’s words during the Lebanon War, “We and the resistance (Hizbullah) read clearly that the day of confrontation was definitely approaching…..” and the Golan would be freed “…by Syrian hands….” ringing in Israel’s ears, many American/Israelis and American Arabs have started moving away from the coming hurricane, and are returning to the relative safety of the U.S.

Iraq

Due to the heavy toll on life and property for both Iraqi citizens and coalition forces, particularly U.S. forces, confidence in law and order and the legitimacy of the Shiite run government backed by the U.S. is at an all time low. A number of prominent Sunni politicians are planning to call for a no confidence vote on July 15, against Prime Minister Nouri al-Malki’s government.

Iraq’s Shiite national security adviser, Mouwaffak al-Rubaie, on the other hand, has a dire warning if Maliki is removed “I can tell you one thing that after Maliki, there will be a hurricane in Iraq”. Many in the government are calling for the arming of civilians, with the U.S. gingerly supplying weapons and ammunition to locals who haven’t been vetted and who quite likely belong to any one of the Islamic terrorist groups in Iraq. The U. S. is hoping to replicate the “Anbar model” following the so called success of Sunni tribesman in the Anbar province where tribesman fought Al Qaeda in Iraq. Who comes up with these “models”?

Maybe the U.S. would be better off using the “MKO model” (Mujaheedin e-Khalq Organization) by using the MKO members practically held captive by U.S. forces in Camp Ashraf in Eastern Iraq, against Iraqi Islamic terrorists, and then against the Iranian regime which has sworn to destroy Israel, establish Islamic rule in Iraq, spread it through the Middle East and then to the rest of the world

Iran - Jerusalem via Karbala

The MKO are Iranians but sworn enemies of the Iranian regime, fought the Shah before Khomeini, and even though they are listed as a terrorist group by the U.S. (to placate the government in Iran), are not sure whether they are guests of Uncle Sam, or captives, or bargaining chips, or will be used as a vanguard against Iran by the U.S. and Israel.

While Teheran hints at exchanging MKO members for al Qaeda leaders in Iran, the U.S. demurs and is not certain what to do with the MKO who have strong support from influential U. S. politicians

Under President Ahmadinejad’s sinister guidance and nuclear saber rattling, Iran poses a bigger problem than the myriad Islamic terrorist groups for coalition forces in Iraq by supplying advanced weaponry and explosive devices to its proxies in Iraq

Iran has not only infiltrated every level of Shiite government in Iraq, but thanks to the porous border with Iraq, also sends its agents of destruction disguised as pilgrims, to bribe, threaten and kill those who are not receptive to Iranian influence.

Ahmedenijad and the Islamic clerics who control the government look upon American intervention and occupation as a divine blessing, the same way Khomeini viewed the Iraq-Iran war of the 1980’s, which he claimed would liberate Jerusalem via Karbala in Eastern Iraq

U.S. Bush, July 15, 2007, and the First Crusade (July 15 1095)

Back home in the U.S. Homeland Security Secretary, Michael Chertoff, has a gut feeling about an increased terrorism threat this summer, and so called terrorism and Islamic “experts” wonder why Islamic terrorists always attack in the summer months (July).

On July 15, 2007 President Bush has to present a congressionally mandated progress report on the troop increases in Iraq, with none of his so called “experts” warning him that July 15 is a day of revenge and sorrow for the Muslims, who faced defeat and the eventual loss of Jerusalem, during the First Crusade launched on July 15 1095

On Friday September 29 2006, As-Sahab, Al Qaeda’s media production unit, released a tape by Ayman al Zawaheri, addressing Bush, the Pope of the Vatican, Darfur and the Crusader Wars”, in which he also compared the present Pope to Pope Urban who he says “provoked the people of Europe to fight the Muslims in the Crusades”.

Muslims who live in history (past), unlike the West, where anything beyond yesterday is “history” to be forgotten, were incensed by President Bush  who after 9/11,  referred to the upcoming war against terror as a “crusade”.

Remembering the defeat of the Muslims during the first Crusade (July 1095) still drives Muslim terrorists like Zawaheri, and thousands more  berserk.

Bush’s naïve remark set off alarm bells in Europe, or as it is known in some circles, Eurabia, and raised fears of a clash of civilizations, between the oil-hungry non-Muslims and oil-rich Muslims.

In 2001 reacting to Bush’s reference to a Crusade, Mullah Obaidullah Akhund, a close friend of Ossama bin Laden and Taliban leader Mullah Omar, then defense minister for the Taliban, called on all Muslims to prepare to continue the Jihad that has been going on for over 1500 years.

History repeats itself!

Other interesting events in July:

July 15 1095. The First Crusade launched by Pope Urban (Jerusalem falls to the Crusaders in July 1099), deals a crushing blow to the Muslims who had spread their religion (cult) by the sword. This defeat has not been forgotten, and continues to plague Muslims still
