The "press" and Seminar2

For our Seminar2, Islam, Jihad, and Terrorism in Las Vegas on Aug' 23-25 with Robert Spencer of Jihadwatch, (check out the smiling face), we invited the mainstream media by sending out press releases etc, but were honored only by www.vegasonline.com, www.fromthebalcony.com, the local Spanish TV station, and www.lvcitylife.com.

The Spanish station of course aired the piece the same night they stopped by (haven't received a copy) the following appeared, by Victoria Alexander in www.fromthebalcony.com:

“Non-Sanctioned” Fatwa Against Robert Spencer. To prove my fearlessness, I attended 2 days of The Center for Strategic Analysis’ 3-day seminar on “Know Your Enemy - Islam, Jihad and Terrorism” at a secret location. On Thursday, John spoke on the topic of “Future Conflict With Islam.”

CSA’s featured 2-day speaker, the really fearless zealot Robert Spencer of JihadWatch.org (pictured), has had a fatwa issued against him! Now there’s a wanted list that has got to be hard to get on! A fatwa is a legal decree in sharia law (a religious ruling) requiring any Muslim to kill the “fatwaee” (I made up this word) if they had the chance. The faux-fatwa sent to Spencer had this as a closing line:

"May Allah rip out his spine from his back and split his brains in two, and then put them both back, and then do it over and over."

I asked Spencer about his fatwa. Spencer downplayed the fatwa as being “non-sanctioned.” It’s a technicality he’s embracing. He was more impressed that Adam Gadahn personally invited him to join Islam. On September 2, 2006 a video called "Invitation to Islam" surfaced on various pro-al Qaeda websites. It featured a lecture by Gadahn.

In the video, Gadahn stated "If the Zionist crusader missionaries of hate and counter-Islam consultants like Daniel Pipes, Robert Spencer, Michael Scheuer, Steven Emerson, and yes, even the crusader-in-chief George W. Bush were to abandon their unbelief and repent and enter into the light of Islam and turn their swords against the enemies of God, it would be accepted of them and they would be our brothers in Islam." Both Pipes and Spencer have publicly declined to accept Gadahn's invitation to convert to Islam!

Spencer is on a lone campaign to tell Americans the truth about Islam. He scared the Hell out of me. And that’s not easy to do. The Prophet said, "I looked into paradise and saw that the majority of its people were the poor, and I looked into the Fire and found that the majority of its people were women." (Bukhari Volume 8, Book 76, Number 554).

The Center for Strategic Analysis is a non-profit organization founded by Executive Director/ Founder Patrick Boylan as an educational endeavor to make the public and government aware of the true causes of terrorism and to be a source of insight and truth. For security reasons the exact location of the seminar was only shared with attendees who agreed not to share the location information with non-attendees. Email pboylan@centerforstrategicanalysis.org or call Patrick Boylan at 702.866.6466 for information regarding the next seminar. http://www.centerforstrategicanalysis.org/.

Just to set the record straight, J. Alexander spoke on "Future Conflict", not Future Conflict with Islam, as he says he has "Muslim friends, and does not think they have anything to do with terrorism."

Lvcitylife reporter wrote the following:

Just because you're paranoid ...

The Know Your Enemy: Islam, Jihad and Terrorism seminar was far from your typical public library fare

Robert Spencer was one of the featured speakers at the Know Your Enemy: Islam, Jihad and Terrorism seminar held Aug. 23-25 at an undisclosed location.

FROM THE START OF KNOW YOUR ENEMY: ISLAM, JIHAD AND TERRORISM, it was obvious this wasn't your typical public library seminar.

Wax paper covered the windows. A hulking man in black provided security. And the location of the seminar wasn't included in the promotional materials (and the organizer asked that it not be included in this story).

Why the paranoia?

"We don't want Muslims to disrupt it," said Patrick "Paddy" Boylan, who organized the seminar. "That's happened all over the country and we try to avoid that situation. But we're not worried about taking care of ourselves. If you heard all the people who are here, you know they can take care of a situation like that."

Before the first presentation, "Pakistan and Islamic Terror Organizations," Boylan asked the 15 or so people in attendance to introduce themselves. They included self-defense experts, military veterans and retired CIA agents.

Held Aug. 23-25, the seminar -- which also featured presentations titled "Jihad and the Crusades" and "Profiling with Islam" -- was put on by the Center for Strategic Analysis. Founded by Boylan in 2006, the center's mission is to make the U.S. public and government aware of the causes of terrorism and keep the country safe. Its website, www.centerforstrategicanalysis.org, says it shuns political correctness.

Indeed.

During "Pakistan and Islamic Terror Organizations," Boylan identified several groups he said were Islamic and violent. He said the Quran advocates violence against non-Muslims. In fact, he seemed to suggest that Islam is a bloody and exclusive religion -- and the main cause of terrorism in the world.

"It's in the Quran," said Boylan, who grew up in Pakistan and is agnostic. "It calls Christians and Jews pigs and apes. If you're a nonbeliever in Islam, you're going to rot in hellfire and you're not to be made friends with."

Boylan said one of the seminar's goals was to let people know that terrorists can and should be profiled.

So who attended this seminar?

Mostly white, graying men. But getting more information than that about attendees was tough. Many of them were tight-lipped and didn't want to give out their names or any personal information.

One attendee, who heard about the seminar from a friend, said: "Patrick can't get any funding because he's considered on the fringes and not politically correct, but these terrorist groups can get all the funding they need for their operations. I think it's a shame."

He said the seminar was important because it educated the public about the reality of Islam and terrorism.

Dr. Aslam Abdullah, director of the Islamic Society of Nevada, disputes this "reality." He said if Boylan had attended Islam and Non-Violence, an August 2005 seminar sponsored by the Islamic Society, he would have a better understanding of the Quran and the religion. He also said much of the religious violence in the 20th century wasn't committed by Muslims.

Not sure where Abdullah (slave of Allah) gets his historic information, maybe he doesn't know or believe the Armenian genocide was carried out by Muslims, that the Nazi's had a Muslim SS troop known as the Hunjar (saber) division, the massacre of Hindus after the partition of India, and on, and on.....

"I think the assumption that Islam promotes violence is based on ignorance and a political agenda," said Abdullah. "I think they're trying to take advantage of the chaos that exists in the world, in terms of creating more fear and suspicion about Muslims and Islam."

Actually we are not at all interested in creating fear and suspicion of Islam and Muslims, they are doing a pretty good job all by themselves, by flying planes into the WTC, blowing up trains in England and Spain, blowing up nightclubs in Bali, beheadings in Iraq, Thailand, Pakistan and on, and on....

Abdullah said he has heard of the Center for Strategic Analysis, but it has never approached him to discuss the Quran and Islam. And he wasn't invited to the Know Your Enemy seminar, he said.

Why does Abdullah think he deserves an invitation to our seminars eh? We are not in the business of discussing the Koran or Islam, we are in the business of stating chapter (sura) and verse (ayat) of the Koran that calls for the hating and killing of all "kaffirs"

What if he had been invited?

"I would have basically, without confronting them, invited them to the mosque to come and learn about Islam's approach to violence and how Muslims have stood against violence over the centuries and how they have been advocates for peace."

How interesting that Abdullah felt the need to say "without confronting them". Speaks for itself

The invitation still stands, said Abdullah.

"I invite the group to come to the mosque and have a roundtable discussion with Muslims," he said. "They are welcome anytime. We can go to the depths of the issue and see what their assumptions are and what our understanding of the issue is. I think that's a civil way to do it, rather than name-calling and making one-sided claims and accusations. Let the people decide for themselves what the truth is."

Interestingly he has an "understanding" of the issue, and we only have assumptions, and of course no "name-calling", how sweet!

Notice how the reporter titled the piece? "Just because you are paranoid.."

When Aslam Abdullah states ""I think the assumption that Islam promotes violence is based on ignorance and a political agenda," I'm not sure if he is speaking about his own ignorance or mine, and which political agenda? I'm not running for office, even though I was an elected member of the State Board of Education, am a Democrat who is a gun-toting-tree-hugger against stringent gun control,(by the way, the Muslims of Nevada voted for Kerry) and have been in many mosques and listened to the hatred for Hindus, Jews,Christians and all "kaffirs" spewed from numerous "maulvis" all over Pakistan and England.

I have taken the liberty to underline, boldface, and italicize all his "interesting words". Tell me what you think.
